(CMR) Police are investigating a water-related death after a 68-year-old woman from North Carolina, USA, experienced a medical emergency while snorkeling in the Cayman Kai area.
Reports are that just after 11:05 am on Saturday, 10 June, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a report of a woman experiencing a medical emergency in a water-related incident that took place in the Cayman Kai area of North Side.
Personnel from the Cayman Islands Fire Service and Emergency Medical Services attended the location where they provided urgent first aid, and she was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased by the attending doctor.
This incident is being investigated by the police, and anyone with information is encouraged to call the Bodden Town Police Station at 947-2220.
