(CMR) CBC has confirmed that a tense situation has developed with migrants held at the Customs & Border Control Detention Centre (CBCDC) following a protest earlier today. CBC said necessary repairs have been made to the CBCDC perimeter fence, for both the migrants and security officers’ wellbeing.
CMR was at the location today as migrants being held at the facility protested.
CBC said it continues to work with partner agencies, including Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS), Her Majesty's Cayman Islands Prison Service (HMCIPS) to manage the situation and maintain security.
