(CMR) Jamaican artiste Scantana recently dropped his single “Goodie Goodie” which aims at celebrating women globally.
The track which made its debut on HOT97 has been getting good reviews from music-lovers and critics alike who have praised the artiste for his unique ability to blend dancehall and hip-hop in an almost seamless fashion.
Scantana's talent is undeniable as he shows off his lyrical prowess in the single mentioning the names of 39 influential women including, Winnie Harlow, Jada Kingdom, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B among plenty of others.
According to Scantana, “Goodie Goodie” aims at melding the elements of fun and melodic in a way that tastefully celebrates a diversity of women.
“Goodie Goodie was created to make women around the world feel good”, Scantana explained.
“The lyrics of the catchy hook highlights women of all shapes, sizes, colour and creed,” he added.
Born, Kibwe Lawrence, in the infamous inner city community of “Tel Aviv” , Scantana migrated to the South Bronx community in New York at a tender age where he spent most of his adolescent years
Scantana noted that based on his upbringing he was predisposed to criminality, which resulted in him being deported to his native Jamaica.
However, his deportation has not stopped his career which had began in the US and seen him score performances with Hip-Hop/R&B acts such as, Foxy Brown, Tyrese Gibson, MA$E, SWV and many others.
Scantana is most known for his Black Lives Matter viral video and his appearance in the Netflix hit series Top Boy.
“Goodie Goodie” is the first track off Scantana’s upcoming EP and joint project with producer Dale Virgo.
