(CMR) The Ministry of Education (MOE) invites all eligible Caymanians to submit applications for overseas scholarships for the 2022/2023 academic year.

The period of application opened on Monday, 15 November, and closes at 11:59 pm on Monday, 31 January 2022. Successful applicants will be able to access funding from September (Fall) 2022 onwards.

“These scholarships provide an excellent opportunity for students who would not have been otherwise able to afford it, to pursue further education from accredited overseas institutions,” commented Manager of the Scholarship Secretariat Unit, Dr. Shari Smith.

The overseas scholarship for undergraduate students awards a maximum of CI $30,000.00 per annum for up to four years to each successful applicant.

In addition, the top male and female undergraduate applicants who have been accepted into approved Ivy League or Gold Tiered University will each receive up to a maximum of CI $100,000.00 per annum through the Cayman Scholar Award.

Applicants interested in overseas postgraduate studies, Masters and Doctoral degrees, can also access a maximum of CI$35,000.00 per annum.

Dr. Smith also invited interested applicants to apply online using the updated scholarship application portal, adding, “We recently upgraded our scholarship application portal to provide students with a more seamless application experience. In addition to applying for available scholarships, students can use the upgraded portal to verify their eligibility for each scholarship, monitor the status of their application, and manage all interactions throughout the life of the scholarship.”

To learn more about the upgraded online scholarship application portal, please visit https://youtu.be/LLfS5T6uJVs. To apply for a MOE government overseas scholarship, please visit www.moescholarships.gov.ky.
