(CMR) In partnership with the Cayman Islands Government, Cayman Airways Limited (CAL) has confirmed the following repatriation flights from Grand Cayman to Miami, and to Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic for next weekend.
KX3102 will be departing Grand Cayman at 10:00 am for Miami, Florida on Friday, May 15, 2020 arriving at 12:30 pm. KX3031 will be departing two days later on Sunday, May 17 at 7:30 am to arrive in Santo Domingo at 10:30 am.
Persons traveling to the United States must be US citizens or those legally able to travel to or through the USA. Persons traveling to the Dominican Republic must be citizens of the Dominican Republic. Passengers are responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary travel documents for entry into any country.
COVID-19 travel requirements
Upon arrival in the Dominican Republic (DR), the DR government will require all passengers to be in quarantine for 14 days. There are no special COVID-19 entry requirements for US citizens entering the US at this time.
Passengers (except infants) will be allowed two free checked bags up to 55lbs per bag (not exceeding linear dimensions of 62 inches per bag), plus one carry-on bag not exceeding 11″ x 16″ x 24″. Only 1 excess bag per passenger can be accommodated for each flight, at a cost of US$50 for the third bag, which cannot exceed 55lbs. No overweight or oversized bags will be accepted. Passengers who expect to have 1 additional bag MUST prepay for it at the time of booking. Please note that the first two bags will travel confirmed, but excess bags will travel space-available and may take several weeks to reach the passenger should baggage space not be available on the repatriation flight.
For the Miami flight, a limited number of pets can be accommodated on this flight on a first-come, first-serve basis. Passengers are responsible for ensuring they meet all necessary customs requirements for the importation of pets to any country. No pets will be allowed on the flight to the Dominican Republic.
Health and Safety Measures
Various measures will be in place for the health and safety of passengers and crew, including:
- Middle seats will be left empty
- No Business Class seats will be sold or assigned
- All passengers must present at check-in and boarding with their own face mask, which they must wear for the duration of the flight
- CAL airport staff will be wearing protective gear for the check-in and boarding process, and check-in counters will be sanitized frequently during the check-in process
- Social distancing rules will be enforced for the boarding process (6-foot spacing between each passenger)

Only credit or debit cards will be taken over the phone for bookings. Passengers with existing tickets for travel to and from Miami will be able to use them for these repatriation flights.
