(CMR) The Ministry of Education has announced Thursday morning the reopening date for the George Town Primary School will be Monday, October 4. The ministry announced that:
“The George Town Primary will continue to offer online classes and will reopen for face-to-face classes on Monday, 4 October for all students and staff who have been cleared by Public Health,” stated Education Minister Hon. Juliana O'Connor-Connolly.
“This will facilitate any reorganisation that may need to occur at the school prior to the resumption of face-to-face classes and allow staff and families the opportunity to tend to personal matters before the school reopens.”
The school will be moving to the mandatory health and safety protocols that are outlined in the attached Ministry of Education’s COVID-19 Guidance for Educational Institutions.
Minister O'Connor-Connolly also thanked parents, teachers and other stakeholders for their role amidst the school's closure.
“I wish to go on record to thank each of our GTPS families for working together with our educators to ensure a seamless transition to remote education and for fully utilizing the available technologies to ensure that none of our children was left behind during this challenging time.
I also wish to thank the team at the Department of Education Services, Public Health as well as the groups and organizations whose efforts helped to support the continued nourishment of our children's minds and bodies.”
