(CMR) A Maryland man killed his ex-girlfriend and ex-wife and confessed to the killings on Facebook Live before shooting himself. Rajaee Shareef Black (44) said he was driven to kill both women because of the emotional turmoil both were putting him through.
Black, on a live video, admitted to killing his ex-girlfriend, Tara Labang, Saturday afternoon while outside the Columbia apartment building of his ex-wife, Wendy Natalie Black. He then revealed his ex-wife was about to die.
“I just did something crazy, man. I just shot my ex-girlfriend in the head, yo. Um, felt like a dream. I never thought I would be that guy,” he said.
Black said he was distraught over child custody issues with both women, saying “sh-t has been real crazy” and that he couldn’t go to prison.
“The person that really started my depression and all of this is my ex-wife,” Black continued. “So, she next. And then I’m going to do myself, too. But I just wanted to say this to people: Don’t play with people’s emotions, man. Don’t lie on these men.”
Black’s 42-year-old ex-wife then comes to her doorway, the video shows before suddenly cutting out.
“Oh, here’s my ex-wife right now,” Black says flatly.
Court records show a lengthy custody battle between him and Wendy Black that’s been unfolding for three years. Records also showed a history of domestic violence charges but did not show who filed the charges, The Baltimore Sun reported.
Baltimore Police Department’s Southern District station got a call around 1:30 p.m. about a residential alarm in the 1500 block of Marshall St. Officers found the door kicked in and, inside the home, officers discovered Labang shot to death.
Less than an hour later, Howard County Police officers were called to Columbia’s Kings Contrivance neighborhood in the 7300 block of Eden Brook Drive for a report of shots fired. Police found both Wendy and Rajaee Black dead.
Authorities said that the couple’s two children were unhurt in his gray BMW outside the woman’s apartment building.
According to the Baltimore Sun, Howard County police confirmed Black had a relationship with both women. All three worked as nurse anesthetists at area hospitals.
Ascension Saint Agnes Hospital confirmed that Labang worked as a certified registered nurse anesthetist at the hospital.
“We are shocked and saddened by this news, and our thoughts and prayers are with Tara’s family,” hospital spokesman Bradley Cardwell wrote in a statement. “Tara will be greatly missed in her community and by all of Ascension Saint Agnes.”
The Baltimore Sun reported that Court records showed Black filed a federal lawsuit against the University of Maryland Medical System in January, claiming he had been wrongfully fired after exposing a doctor who allegedly was stashing drugs in his locker.
