(CMR) Wendy Williams has postponed her daytime talk show until October due to ongoing health issues. She was reportedly recently hospitalized for a psychiatric evaluation and has since tested positive for the coronavirus.
The announcement that her show has been canceled was made on Thursday in a statement shared on her talk show's Instagram account.
“Wendy is dealing with some ongoing health issues and is undergoing further evaluations,” the statement read. “She will not be able to complete her promotional activities next week but can't wait to be back in her purple chair Monday, September 20th for the 13th season premiere.”
The premier has since been further pushed back to October 4.
According to CNN, an announcement also posted on her show's verified Instagram account reads, “While continuing her health evaluations, Wendy has tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19.”
“To allow Wendy time to quarantine and fully recover and to ensure that our production fully abides by SAG/AFTRA and DGA Covid protocols, we expect to begin the 13th season of The Wendy Williams Show on Monday, October 4th,” the statement read.
CNN reports that a case is described as a “breakthrough” when a person is fully vaccinated but still gets infected with COVID-19.
In a statement posted last week, it had been announced that Williams was canceling “her promotional activities” as she was “dealing with some ongoing health issues” and “undergoing further evaluations.”
Last year Williams took a break from her show while dealing with Graves' disease.
