(CMR) Tiffany Haddish slammed the offer she received to host the Grammys’ pre-show as “disrespectful”.
Haddish said that she turned down the opportunity because she was told she wouldn’t be paid for the three-hour long event.
The Girl’s Trip actress also said she was told she would have to foot the cost for her hair, makeup as well as wardrobe.
“I was like, ‘The exposure is amazing but I think I have enough. I appreciate you guys asking,’” Haddish told Variety as she recounted the incident
Haddish told the publication that she thought the offer was very disrespectful noting that she wasn’t sure if she would ever be nominated again but could not contain her displeasure.
“I don’t know if this might mean I might not get nominated ever again, but I think it’s disrespectful, added Haddish.
Haddish is up for Best Comedy Album for Black Mitzvah at the ceremony and received a nomination in 2019 for Best Spoken Word album for her audiobook The Black Unicorn.
The 63rd Grammys will take place Jan. 31, 2021.
