(CMR) Oustanding Caymanian swimmer Jordan Crooks will compete in the 2024 Olympics in Paris this Summer after qualifying for the 50- and 100-yard freestyles during the 2023 Fukuoka World Championships.
According to the University of Tennessee, Crooks became the first swimmer from the institution to earn multiple qualifying times.
Crooks has excelled in several major championships and is expected to strongly represent the Cayman Islands at the Olympics. Earlier this year, Crooks became the fastest swimmer in the 200-yard freestyle in Central America and the Caribbean after winning the event with a time of 1:30:41 at the 2024 NCAA Division I Championships at IUPUI Natatorium, Indianapolis.
Crooks (20) made history in 2022 when he became the first Caymanian swimmer to win a gold at a World Championships. Since then, he has been on a roll, breaking record after record.
