(CMR) Several restaurant workers are now job hunting after three restaurants announced they are shuttering their doors permanently this month. At least one of the restaurants has indicated that market conditions contributed to their decision.
One of Cayman's newest eateries, Steak Social, will close its doors officially on June 29 after 4 years. Bread & Chocolate closed on June 1 after 11 years, while Hard Rock Cafe will officially close its doors on June 29 after more than two decades in the Cayman Islands.
In a notice posted on social media, Hard Rock Cafe Grand Cayman said the decision, although difficult, is part of a broader strategic shift for the brand and an evaluation of market conditions.
“We are deeply grateful to the community of Grand Cayman and all our customers who have supported us over the years. The Hard Rock Cafe has been more than just a restaurant; it has been a place where memories were made, music was celebrated, and friendships were formed,” a message from Hard Rock's management read
Hard Rock Cafe said its closure will involve a structured wind-down process to ensure a smooth transition for employees and patrons.
“We are committed to supporting our team during this time and will be offering assistance to help them transition to new opportunities. The Hard Rock Cafe has been privileged to work with some of the best talent in the hospitality industry, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to each of our employees for their dedication and hard work,” the post read.
Over the next two weeks, Hard Rock Cafe Grand Cayman will host a series of farewell events to celebrate its legacy. These events will include live music performances, special promotions, and opportunities for loyal patrons to come together and reminisce about the good times shared at the venue.
Steak Social also admitted that the decision to close has been an “incredibly difficult one.”
“We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and your loyalty to our business over the past four and half years. Serving you has been a privilege, and we have cherished every moment and every memory created within our walls,” Steak Social stated on social media.
As the restaurant prepares for June 29th, it will continue accepting Gift Certificate redemptions and will offer some of the favorite specials for all to enjoy. These offerings include our 2-4-1 Surf & Turf on Tuesdays, the Family Feast on Wednesdays, and Brazilian Night Buffet on Thursdays, as well as incredible Wine specials through to the end of the month.
CMR also also learned that Bluestone Cafe will be closing at the end of this month. there are also unconfirmed reports that 3forty5ivewings is also shuttering its doors.
