(CMR) The Cayman Islands beat Antigua and Barbuda 1-nil in Group A of the Second Round of Concacaf Qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the first time Cayman has won a World Cup qualifying match. The match was held at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex in George Town, Cayman Islands, on Saturday, 8 June.
Joshwa Campbell scored the lone goal in the 90’+1 with a header at the right post. Trey Ebanks provided the cross for the match-winning goal.
The Cayman Islands started its campaign with three points and will travel to face Cuba on Tuesday. Antigua and Barbuda have one point in two matches played.
For the Second Round, the participating teams were divided into six groups of five. The top two nations from each group will move on to the Final Round.
Each country will play a home and away match during the June 2024 FIFA match window. Teams will have reached the halfway point of the Second Round, which will resume in June 2025.
