(CMR) Cayman Airways’ La Ceiba flight KX882, which was scheduled to depart Grand Cayman at 1 pm, and KX883, which was scheduled to depart La Ceiba at 2:40 pm on Friday, 17 May, were canceled due to low visibility at the Goloson International Airport in La Ceiba.
On Friday, 17 May, Honduras’ civil aviation officials rendered the Goloson International Airport in La Ceiba, Honduras, inoperable until further notice due to reduced visibility caused by smoke.
Due to the ongoing uncertainty regarding when visibility will return to safe levels for flight operations, Cayman Airways is in the process of scheduling additional flights to transport affected passengers on Tuesday, 21 May 2024, weather permitting.
Affected passengers will be contacted directly by Cayman Airways when updates become available, or they may call Cayman Airways Reservations at 345-949-2311 or 800-2791-9422 (toll-free in Honduras). Cayman Airways apologizes for any inconvenience caused to passengers as a result of visibility conditions that are beyond the airline’s control.
