The following was submitted by Carolyn McAlpine the wife of Andrew McAlpine who was arrested a week ago in Orlando, Florida by US federal agents. It was later revealed by the US Attorney's Office in Southern California that he was indicted on multiple security fraud charges.
Dear Cayman Marl Road,
We have all heard the saying, “God works in mysterious ways,” whether religious or not, and this has been one of those times. Although I am not condoning condemnation of your article on my husband, Andrew McAlpine, I will say this… Your article spread all over North America and even the United Kingdom.
Through my demise of our situation and the saying “you know who your friends are…”, I have had an outpour from the community like I’ve never seen, people that truly respect and care for both of us from the bottom of their hearts and with heartfelt messages and food being dropped off by friends, enough to feed me for 3 weeks. Our hospitality, kindness and generosity has all come back two-fold.
God has been performing so many miracles that it has been keeping me afloat. Your article has touched those that have compassion and understanding for troubled times; whether guilty or not, I see the glass half full. While the rest of the world seems to be falling apart, we are comfortably going about our business, knowing that we are not risking our health or lives by simply going to a grocery store. Our small community is like a big family, everyone knows your business, but that’s ok, we are family!
I once heard Marlon Brando say, “Trouble comes knocking on everyone’s door, and this time it is knocking on mine”. Our disappointments are God’s appointments. Although I am not trying to turn this into a bible study, “he that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone” John 8:7. My husband was going out of his way to charter a plane, desperately wanting to see his ailing father and our lives were turned upside down in the blink of an eye. Yes, your article turned on the floodgates, but it also sifted out the beautiful sand that we are so fortunate to walk on.
God chose you to get a message out there as he heard my cries for help, so thank you, Carolyn Third-McAlpine.
