(CMR) A 29-year-old-man of West Bay has been charged with two counts of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit an offense, contrary to the Firearms Act (2008 Revision), in relation to several shootings which happened earlier this week.
According to the RCIPS, the charges relate to the Shedden Road and Canal Point Drive shooting incidents which took place early in the morning of Monday, 11 October. Police initially arrested him on Wednesday, 13 October, in relation to these shootings.
The same man was also charged with several drug-related offenses contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act (2017 Revision). This includes two counts of possession of ganja with intent to supply, possession of utensils used in the consumption of ganja, possession of ganja, and consumption of ganja. These charges were following an investigation that began on 17 July 2021.
The man appeared in court Friday, 15 October, where he was remanded in custody, and is scheduled to make a further appearance on Thursday, 21 October 2021.
