(CMR) A viral video had many residents concerned yesterday that a woman may have been in harm's way after it was observed that a man was getting “frisky” with her outside of the Everglo Restaurant and Bar in Bodden Town Sunday night. However, police confirm that she is fine and there are no concerns.
However, CMR has received assurances from the police that Daphine Kirchman was not harmed in any way and has indicated that the man in question is known to her. After a video began circulating on Monday morning with him attempting to engage her in what appears to be some sex act many wondered if she had been drugged and was not a willing participant.
At the time of the incident, persons can be heard in the video becoming concerned towards the end of the available recording about her wellbeing and questioned if she was consenting to the aggressive public display of affection.
At the beginning of the video, multiple onlookers were apparently amused by the situation which took place on the side of the public road. Shockingly some observers were encouraging the behavior and they could be heard saying “get that … get that” as vehicles drove by. However, someone quickly became concerned. One person observed that she didn't look like she was “down for it”.
At least one observer contacted the police about her concerns for the victim and CMR can confirm that two police officers attended the scene quickly. Upon arrival on the scene, they spoke to both parties who confirmed that despite the simulation in the video no sexual act took place.
They further were said to be “very intoxicated” and were driven from the location as police prohibited the man from driving. The official statement from Kirchman to the police is that:
“She was intoxicated and fell over a small wall and that her male friend was helping her up.”
No further action will be taken by the police in this matter.
Kirchman (46) who works for WORC was involved in another viral video in April 2019.
