(CMR) John Gray High School male students involved in an expose interview yesterday that shocked the local community has issued a video apology. The school called the video appalling and disappointing.
The parents of many of the children meet earlier this evening and had a good discussion with the children.
We understand that there were many tears but the meeting was useful and at this stage, they feel this is the first step toward healing.
School principal, John Clark issued a statement earlier today sharing that they were very disappointed in the video that was released. The students will be undertaking mandatory community service projects and have agreed to counseling.
He also stressed that this incident does “not accurately reflect our entire student body”. Going forward he said that the parents have agreed that appropriate education and restorative work will have to be undertaken to address the underlying issues this has brought to the forefront.
