(CMR)The appearance of foreign nationals before Barbados courts for breaking the country's COVID-19 protocols continued on Thursday, with two British nationals admitting to breaking quarantine rules.

Andrew Lecker and Julia Knightley pleaded guilty to inviting a person without permission to their hotel while they were in quarantine.

They were both fine BAD$6000 (US$3000); failure to pay the fine in seven days would result in a nine-month prison sentence.

Thursday's court hearing came a day after British tv star Zara Holland was fined US$6000 for breaking quarantine and attempting to flee the country with her boyfriend, who had tested positive for COVID-19.

Holland was ordered to pay the fine in seven days or serve nine months in prison.

According to Barbados Today, Holland paid the fine Wednesday and has since left the island.

Last week  Jamaican Dean Scott was sentenced to six months for breaching quarantine protocols to go to a shop. After he said he was unable to pay a BAD$6000 fine, Scott was given a prison sentence.
