(CMR) Reports are that on Monday (October 12) United States President Donald Trump tested negative for the coronavirus.
The news comes less than two weeks after news broke on October 1 that the president had contracted the deadly virus, which has killed more than 200,00 people in the US.
“I can share with you that he tested negative, on consecutive days, using the Abbot BinaxNOW antigen card,” Sean Conley said in a White House memo released on Monday.
Conley, the president's physician said the negative determination had taken into account a number of measurements, inclusive of a rapid test .
Conley added that the negative tests and other clinical and laboratory data “indicate a lack of detectable viral replication.”
Following the announcement, Trump travelled to Sanford, Florida to take part in his first campaign rally since becoming infected with the coronavirus.
