(CMR) On Saturday, 11 December, the Government gazetted regulations reducing the COVID-19 testing window for arriving passengers and persons traveling to the Sister Islands from 72 hours to no earlier than the day before departure.
The changes, which come into effect on 17 December, also expanded testing options to include certified rapid tests.
Government has also defined ‘departures’ to mean the departure of any connecting flights or transit flights to the Islands, where the layover between flights is less than twelve hours.
The measures are a response to the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus, which has been deemed a variant of concern by the World Health Organization.
For more information on changes, persons can read the Control of Covid-19 (Travel) (Amendment) Regulations, 2021 and the Control and Management of Covid-19/.
