(CMR) A traveler who breached quarantine after attending a day 15 PCR test site has been warned for prosecution.
After testing, the individual stopped at several public places on the way home. This was in contravention of an agreement all returning travelers must sign with Travel Cayman.
Dr. Tasha Ebanks-Garcia, who heads the Travel Cayman program, said,
‘It is important that travelers abide by their agreement to remain in quarantine until they are cleared by public health.”
Meanwhile, health officials said that a person can test positive at their day 15 test following a negative result on entry and as such would still transmit the virus.
It has since been determined that the traveler did not pose a public health risk at the time of the breach.
