(CMR) Local businesses are being warned to be on the alert after tourists passed some counterfeit United States currency at a local establishment.
Cayman Marl Road has been reliably informed that tourists staying at a local hotel have passed a counterfeit $10 bill onto persons working in the industry yesterday afternoon. The anonymous tipster shared that the bill's paper was obviously a little too thick and it did not pass a further currency pen authenticity test.
Although the amount is small; merchants are being warned to stay on the alert should they receive any suspicious currency and alert the authorities immediately.
