(CMR) Three individuals were shot and killed in Effortville, Clarendon on Wednesday night (December 16).
It is understood that gunmen carried out the slayings as they attempted to track down a stolen bike.
Reports are that shortly after 8:00 p.m. the gunmen entered the community and started asking persons about a missing bike.
Two of the men that were killed were accused of knowing where the vehicle was being hidden.
It is further reported that a woman upon hearing the explosions walked to her veranda to investigate and was also killed.
“Those persons were basically at their gate when the three men came up and robbed the persons there and asked about a bike, they were determined to find that bike. Basically, the mother, who was with her children, came out on the veranda not recognizing what was happening, and just question what was happening. And the next thing you know, she was shot. She later died,” said Clarendon police Superintendent Christopher Phillips, who gave a report on the matter.
The deceased have been identified as 48-year-old Janet Mundle-Reeves, 57-year-old taxi driver Michael Henry, and a 52-year-old mason, Evriel Mitchell.
