(CMR) A man arrived at the George Town Hospital shortly after 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning claiming to have been shot at an address on Adonis Drive in West Bay. He notified the authorities that he was shot by two or three unknown suspects.
CMR exclusive reports are that he was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle and was conscious and breathing at the time of arrival. He has since gone into surgery and is expected to recover with no life-threatening injuries.
The parties entered through a back porch and into his apartment where they found him sleeping on the sofa. They attempted to lift his chains off him which woke him up. A struggle then ensued where he was shot in the chest apparently “millimeters from his heart” with the bullet went straight through him puncturing his lungs.
He then ran into the parking lot and to a neighbor who assisted him in getting to the hospital.
Reports are that several days ago an attempt was made to get into the apartment and he took steps to secure the door further but they still managed to pry open the door to gain entry.
This is the third shooting incident this month as concerns are being raised about an increase in gun violence which many believe could be gang-related. The first and second incidents were just 24 hours apart.
The victim of the second incident was shot multiple times and in the vicinity of Everglo Bar in George Town on June 7.
Other West Bay sources have shared that Adonis Drive located in the Mount Plesant area; which is adjacent to the affluent The Shores waterfront development is known to be a relatively quiet neighborhood. This has now raised concerns that the violence is spreading over into other areas; raising the concern levels even further.
