(CMR) A car that was stolen on Tuesday, 19 April, was the vehicle reportedly used in an armed robbery in Savannah later that evening.
CMR sources have revealed that the car, a Honda SUV, was stolen earlier Tuesday. CCTV footage showed the vehicle was stolen within three minutes of the culprits entering the George Town property. The car was reported stolen immediately.
The vehicle has since been recovered; however, the police have not issued a report of this incident.
The police are investigating the armed robbery which occurred at a convenience store near the JN Money, where another armed robbery occurred in recent weeks.
Police reports are that just before 9:40 pm Tuesday, they were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of an armed robbery along Homestead Crescent in the Savannah area.
Three (3) masked men, two (2) armed with handguns, were said to have entered the business premises and demanded money. One of the men fired a shot in the ceiling, and another assaulted an employee of the business. The men escaped in a light-colored SUV with a quantity of cash in an unknown direction.
The man who was assaulted received a minor injury that was not gunshot-related.
