(CMR) A man was killed in Honduras on Saturday after a boat stolen from the Cayman Islands collided with another boat in Bay Islands.
The victim has been identified as Jorge Madrid, a coconut vendor. Madrid was rushed to a hospital where hours later he passed away.
According to a local news report, the accident occurred in Guanaja, Bay Islands. Karl Ebanks was arrested in relation to the incident.
Some persons believe the accident was caused due to poor weather conditions which was not ideal for boating.
The boat was reported stolen in Cayman last week. Following reports that it was stolen, CMR sources indicated it was in Honduras. Someone had reportedly taken it to the country to participate in Easter boating traditions.
Family members were reportedly charged with bringing the boat back to Cayman. However, now it is not clear what will happen to the boat since it was involved in the fatal crash.
