(CMR) St. Ignatius Catholic School’s Brownies were ecstatic recently when they got the chance to interact with Detective Constable Sam Sillitoe, the RCIPS Major Incident Room Manager, who spoke with the girls about what it is like being a female police officer.
Constable Sillitoe told the girls what her job entails and her experience as a police officer in the Cayman Islands.
The Brownie attendees were enamored with her presentation, where she showed them how to use various police-issued equipment like the handcuff and baton, as well as evidence and crime scene tape. DC Alan Sherwin, who was also in attendance, assisted with the presentations.
DC Sillitoe also answered several questions regarding her duties, the qualifications to become a police officer and various crimes reported on the news.
