(CMR) Speaker of the House and West Bay West MLA William McKeeva Bush (65) pleaded not guilty this morning to assault a bar manager back In February.
Bush pleaded not guilty to three counts of common assault, and one count of drunken disorderly conduct.
He appeared in via Summary Court video link this morning after several delays to answer to the charges. The prosecution file states that Bush viciously attacked the woman at her place of employment.
Bush is alleged to have assaulted the bar manager at Coral Beach late in the night of February 21, 2020. The assault charges allege that Bush grabbed the woman by her hair and hit her in the head as well as threw items at her.
The charge of drunk and disorderly conduct alleges that Bush acted in a drunken manner and then failed to leave the premises when asked to do so.
His attorney, Michael Alberga, requested a 30 day adjournment after he disclosed video footage would be sent to Miami for forensic analysis.
No trial date has been set.
