(CMR) Cayman's Shalysa Wray made her Olympic debut Thursday evening, running an outdoor personal best of 53.61 in the 400m despite not moving on to the semifinals.
Shalysa, who competed in Heat 6, came 7th in her heat. Wray (22) ran 54.06 seconds to win the 400m at the DeLoss Dodds Invitational indoor meet earlier this year, making her the sixth fastest Kansas State University female athlete in history over the distance.
Despite not medaling at this year's Olympics, the outstanding young athlete is expected to go on to do great in athletics. Congratulations Shalysa!
