(CMR) On Monday (July 13) a body was found in a Southern California lake, the same body of water that former “Glee” star Naya Rivera is believed to have drowned.
According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, the body was found during a search of Lake Piru.
Police say the body was found floating in the northeast area of the lake and the county medical examiner was notified.
Authorities did not disclose the identity of the person found in the lake.
Riveria was last seen on Wednesday, July 8, surveillance footage showed the actress and her son entering the boat dock area of the lake.
Reports are that about three hours later, a man who had rented the actress and her son some equipment, found the boy wandering alone, wearing a life vest.
Investigators say that when questioned, the boy revealed that his mother had gone swimming further noting that he had gotten back on the boat but she hadn’t.
An adult life vest was found in the boat, along with Rivera’s identification, and her car was still in the parking lot.
The following day authorities shared that they believed the actress had accidentally drowned, and the search had shifted from rescue effort to an attempt to find her body.
