It's the first Saturday in October and a new month means its ripe to try something new, how about mushroom soup?
The below is an easy recipe to make this homemade classic.
Here's what you'll need:
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 pound sliced fresh mushrooms
1/4 cup chopped onion
6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 cans chicken broth
1 cup half-and-half cream
Directions:
In a large saucepan, in medium-high heat melt butter and saute mushrooms and onion until tender.
Whisk in the flour until smooth.
Add in broth to the pot, stir continuously.
Reduce heat; stir in cream.
Simmer for 15 minutes, garnish and serve.
