(CMR) Popular morning radio show duo “Blake and Erin” previously of X107.1 FM are moving to Kiss 106.1 FM after a four-year hiatus. It was announced exclusively on a CMR's live stream episode of the Pulse on Friday afternoon that they will be reuniting for a new morning show on DMS Broadcasting's number one radio station on June 7.
The pair held down the top morning spot on X107.1 for 10 years, starting in 2010 with entertainment features such as War of the Roses, Confession Monday and more! They enjoyed the top morning radio show ratings until 2017 when Erin decided to focus on family life. Blake continued to host the program solo for the next three years and during that time he has also gotten married and started a family.
Their “adulting” time has paid off with the duo reuniting as a more mature but still highly entertaining pair on Kiss 106.1 FM. They will be bringing over some familiar favorites from their previous morning show such as Astrologer Dawn but minus the War of the Roses segment which Blake explained wouldn't work for the adult contemporary audience on 106.1 FM. They shared that:
“We are cleaning up our act a little bit … we are parents now and so we won't be having War of the Roses”.
They will also have Old School Fridays with throwback classics, Spot the Headlines, and kicking off the show with lots of giveaways and prizes.
Kiss 106.1FM will also be featuring Spilling The Tea with Sandy from Cayman Marl – a quick snippet of the day's headlines and top news stories of the day as well as what will be featured on the weekday live podcast The Cold Hard Truth.
The DMS studios received a complete makeover during the COVID-19 downtime with newly outfitted and designed studios including news studios and a modern reception area.
Erin has been a radio host since 2005 from the East Idaho region. She moved to Cayman in 2010 and has two young boys with her husband Djon. She has enjoyed spending time with them over the past few years but is looking forward to hitting the airwaves again.
Blake was promoted back in May 2014 to Operation Manager overseeing all of the company's radio stations. He had served as program director and morning host on X107.1 since joining DMS in 2010 from Clear Channel in Tucson. DMS – the “Most Powerful Name in Broadcasting” is set to launch several more stations in 2021 including CayCounty and a top-secret format not yet revealed.
