(CMR) Prince Phillip, the Queen's husband, remains in hospital almost three weeks after he was taken to King Edward VII's Hospital as a precautionary measure.
The 99-year-old Duke of Edinburgh was transferred back to King Edward VII’s Hospital on Friday after undergoing a “successful procedure” for a pre-existing heart condition at St. Bartholomew's Hospital earlier this week.
The duke was taken to King Edward VII's Hospital on February 17 but was transferred to St. Bartholomew's Hospital in east London on Monday, where Buckingham Palace said doctors would have continued to treat him for an infection, as well as undertake testing and observation for a pre-existing heart condition.
Prince Philip is expected to remain hospitalized “for continuing treatment for a number of days,” the palace said in a statement.
Prince Philip, who will turn 100 in June, and the Queen celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary last November.
