(CMR) The police are now trying to find persons responsible for importing a large quantity of drugs recovered over the weekend. Reports are that during the early morning hours of Saturday, 8 January, the Air Operations Unit spotted suspicious activity while conducting coastline patrol in the Beach Bay area of the Bodden Town District.
Officers responded, and during the search of the area, two vehicles were recovered containing a large quantity of ganja. Several persons believed to have been involved in the importation of the recovered drugs fled the location on foot.
An extensive search of the area was conducted; however, these persons were not located. The police are investigating the matter. Based on the hostile terrain and ironshore, it is possible that some of these persons might have been injured.
