(CMR) Yesterday Cayman Marl Road indicated in an earlier story that the house fire in Prospect that occurred on Tuesday evening was a suspected arson case – now the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service confirms the matter is a criminal investigation.
Reports are that just after 8:25 p.m. on Monday 21st August, officers from the RCIPS and CIFS were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a fire at a residence on Almond Avenue in Prospect.
They Cayman Islands Fire Service attended the location and extinguished the blaze. No one was injured during the fire.
The Cayman Islands Fire Service has investigated the incident and determined that this fire is an act of arson; as a result a full police investigation has been launched into this incident.
