UPDATE: The George Town man (54) who was arrested following a search operation on Tuesday, 24 May, where a firearm and ammunition were recovered, has been formally charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of an unlicensed firearm (ammunition). He appeared in court on Friday.
The two women arrested in relation to this matter have been granted bail as investigations continue.
(CMR) Two women and a man were arrested on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm following the seizure of a loaded revolver by the police on Tuesday, 24 May.
Reports are that officers carried out a search operation under the Misuse of Drugs Act at an address on Rock Hole Road in George Town. A loaded firearm, a revolver containing six rounds of ammunition, was recovered during the search.
As a result, three persons, a man, age 54 of George Town, and two women, ages 38 and 34 of George Town, were arrested.
All three persons remain in custody as investigations continue.
