(CMR) The use of Borax baths as a COVID-19 vaccine detox is a dangerous side effect of misinformation, and is wrecking the body, one doctor has said.
Dr. Kavita Patel, a primary care physician in Washington, D.C., and an MSNBC columnist and an NBC News/MSNBC contributor, said a cup of borax which is being touted as a recipe for detoxing from the vaccine will do more harm than good.
Dr. Patel, said in an MSNBC article that “The borax bath recipe has gone viral among the minority of Americans who have gotten vaccinated but, for whatever reason, have come to regret it.”
A cup of borax, a caustic agent has been linked to infertility and can damage the skin and other organs, the doctor explained.
The popularity of this detox method reportedly surged after the recently issued guidance from the Biden administration for large employers mandating COVID-19 vaccinations.
However, Dr. Patel said in addition to the damage this and other “vaccine detox” protocols will do to individuals who follow it, the idea of detoxing is drawing attention away from the fact that mandates and workplace requirements are working and are saving lives.
“Detoxing is not real. You can’t undo a vaccine, especially the Covid-19 vaccine, because it doesn’t change your DNA; it just tells your body to depend on its own natural immune response to protect you from dying. We’ve got a proven and effective vaccine against a virus that’s killed more than 760,000 Americans. It’s unfortunate, though, that we don’t have a vaccine against misinformation and its damaging, even deadly, effects,” Dr Patel said.
