(CMR) Paul Parchment Managing Director of the National Roads Authority has been terminated according to CMR sources for gross misconduct.
He was originally suspended back in April 2018 after allegations were made against him. The allegations were made against him by an ex-employee who claimed that he had misused government equipment and property. On February 16, 2018 NRA staff were insturcted to carry 3 inch rock at 12.17 p.m. to Parchment's property located on Sunny Field Drive. The equipment and fill belonged to government.
Video footage of the incident leaked and CMR reported at the time on the matter.
Since then the NRA board has been investigating the matter but no updates have been provided since then. However, we have been informed that the Anti-Corruption Commission decided not to pursue the matter after its investigations. We understand it has been referred back to the NRA as a matter the RCIPS could deal with directly instead of the ACC.
Last month CMR was told by a confidential informant that it would only be a matter of time before the decision to terminate him would be announced.
Mr. Parchment was named as NRA managing director in August 2014.
