Pair arrested at Top Tier Cookout fish fry event after shoplifting at Camana Bay Friday

(CMR) Two Jamaican women found themselves in hot water Saturday after deciding to shoplift at a local retailer. They were caught on CCTV footage stealing a number of items including a $450 Coach handbag. Camille Douglas (AKA SweetBibi Bennett) and Megan Frasier (Megztheegoddess) were taken into police custody Saturday evening by a Fish Fry event.

Brazen thieves were caught in record time Saturday when a local clothing business turned to social media with video footage of several shoplifters stealing over $1,000 in designer merchandise in Camana Bay.

They were observed on CCTV stealing a handbag, polo shirts and baseball caps.

Shoplifting took place Friday, May 14 at 4:00 pm at SOLES and POLO in Camana Bay. A message to the thieves was posted earlier on Saturday afternoon offering both a reward for a positive identification leading to successful prosecution and giving the dishonest women an opportunity to turn themselves over to the police.

Within record time the thieves were identified. In fact, both of them appear to be enjoying living the high life and were hosting a fish fry event called Top Tier Cookout – The Bottles and Plate Edition. They were arrested at the event by four police officers at Cayman Spirits parking lot off Bronze Road, George Town.

Arrested at her own fish fry event!

Both are beauticians that are in Cayman on work permits but it is alleged that they also often work illegally as well. We understand that Megan works at Fosters Supermarket at Camana Bay as a cashier. Camille Douglas is from Spanish Town, Jamaica.

Megan is said to have recently had some extensive cosmetic work done and was featured on her Instagram page showing off the results of the surgeon's work. According to her IG account, she is an ambitious boss lady.

This is not the first time that thieves have targeted retailers in Camana Bay. In 2018 a medical student tried his luck by stealing two polo shirts. He was quickly caught after CMR ran the story. Then in October of last year, a trio hit multiple stores and stole thousands of dollars in merchandise. They are still going through court and apparently have pleaded not guilty despite the CCTV footage.  They were also caught once CMR ran the story two weeks after the incident.

Business owners Nicola de Lima Maloir has been in business since 2005 and intends to send a very clear message to all shoplifters – they will be dealt with by the authorities to the full extent that the law permits. She owns multiple businesses and remains dismayed that especially during these fiscally challenging times anyone would seek to take advantage of any local business.

At the time of publication, both were still in police custody at the George Town Police Station behind bars.
