(CMR) The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) is advising Little Cayman residents that the Annual Bulk Waste Collection on the Sister Island is scheduled for Thursday, December 16, 2021, in partnership with the Public Works Department.
Little Cayman residents are reminded to place their bulk waste on the curbside ahead of the one-day collection to ensure timely and efficient collection. The bulk waste should be in an area that is easily accessible to the collection crew and does not obstruct the roadway. Any items put out after the scheduled date will not be collected.
Bulk waste refers to large items such as old furniture, mattresses, rugs, household appliances, carpeting, scrap metal, vegetative waste, and other items that are not collected as part of the DEH’s weekly residential pick-up services. However, construction and demolition debris, hazardous material, electronics, and tires will not be collected during the bulk waste removal activity.
Persons must make alternative arrangements to transport these items to the landfill.
For additional information, residents on Grand Cayman may call the DEH at 949-6696, while those in the Sister Islands may contact the DEH Cayman Brac office on 948-2321.
