(CMR) Johann Moxam will be taking over the helm of the CIAA Board of Directors, having been appointed to serve as Chairman. Moxam has over 19 years of experience in the international financial services industry and is an advocate for good governance in both public and private sector entities. Moxam was also a political candidate in the May general election.

Moxam is currently the managing partner of Lainston International Management, Ltd. As an international financial services professional with private equity funds and private wealth management portfolios, he spent more than 15 years of his career at Merril Lynch Bank and Trust (Cayman) Ltd. where he served as the Managing Director, MLRO and Corporate Secretary for its Cayman Islands Class A Bank and Trust Company and its subsidiaries.

He brings a proven track record of strategic leadership, broad business management skills, board governance and extensive regulatory and compliance experience.

Moxam received his LLB and LLM in the United Kingdom and worked for several years in the City of London before returning to Cayman. He is a past President of the Chamber of Commerce (2014), past member of the Board of Directors for the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange and served as a member of the Cayman Islands Immigration Department’s Board responsible for Business Staffing Plans (2005-09).

He also volunteers with the Lions Club of Grand Cayman and a number of community service projects.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Ministry of Tourism and Transport shared they were pleased to announce that Cabinet had approved the appointment of new members to the Boards of Directors for the Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA).

Minister for Tourism and Transport, Hon. Kenneth Bryan commented that he was proud of the composition of the new Boards and he was pleased to have achieved a more desirable gender balance, with more women able to bring their unique perspective to these important Boards.

In extending a warm welcome to the new members, the Minister noted that he is confident that the members’ combined expertise will significantly enhance the operations of some of the country’s most important assets.

Other board members include:

Marva Reid Deputy Chairman
Roy Grant Director
Nathaniel Tibbetts Director
Alfred Thompson Jr. Director
Jacqueline Haynes Director
Jonathan Edie Director
Stran Bodden, Chief Officer Ministry of TT Director
Collector of Customs or Nominee Director
Chief Executive Officer (CIAA) Ex-Officio Member Secretary
