(CMR) The three men charged in the death of Dinesh Asanka Fernando Wannukawatta-Waduge (36) at Bananas Restaurant & Lounge on November 30, 2019, have all pleaded not guilty to manslaughter this morning in Grand Court.
They were before Honourable Justice St. Johns Stevens Friday afternoon. The parties were originally arrested in early December in the matter and subsequently charged three days later on December 6.
Brothers Kevin Stefan Parchman (24), Jeremy Ralph Parchman (20) and their friend Shimar Jose Julio Kelly (22) all responded not guilty to Count 1 – manslaughter which alleges that on November 30, 2019, they did an unlawful act that caused the death of the deceased.
Kevin Parchman pleaded not guilty to the second charge of Assault causing ABH. However, he attempted to plea to common assault. A plea, which the prosecution has indicated they are considering whether or not to accept.
The prosecution was instructed that they have 14-days to confirm all disclosure has been made to the defense attorneys. Prosecutor Darlene Oko indicated the investigation was being concluded and she should be in a position to adhere to that deadline.
The matter has been set for trial for two weeks starting June 8, 2020. The men remain on bail and it was mentioned that they are residing in Cayman Brac.
