(CMR) The members of various committees, including the new Public Accounts Committee, were selected during the first sitting of Parliament on Friday, April 23.
The Standing Public Accounts Committee members will include Leader of the Opposition Roy McTaggart as chairman, Barbara Conolly, Dwayne Seymour, Issac Rankine, Katherine Wilks as deputy chairman, and Heather Bodden.
The Standing Business Committee charged with directing the business of the House will be chaired by Premier Wayne Panton. Other committee members include Kenneth Bryan, Andre Ebanks, Christopher Saunders, Alden Mclaughlin, and Roy McTaggart.
The Standing Select Committee on Privileges will also be chaired by the Premier, while Chris Saunders, deputy premier, will be the deputy chairman.
The Standing Select Committee for the oversight of the Office of the Ombudsman is made up of Bernie Bush as chairman, Chris Saunders, Johany Ebanks, David Wight, and Joey Hew.
Most noticeably missing from the opposition were former Premier Alden McLaughlin, Bodden Town East representative Dwayne Seymour and Moses Kirkconnell, the member from Cayman Brac West and Little Cayman. Seymour was reportedly at the funeral.
