(CMR) McKeeva Bush, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly appeared in Summary Court this morning before Magistrate Foldats in Courthouse 7 to proceed with his assault case.
Bush and his attorney, Michael Alberga informed the court that not much progress had been made in the defense's review of the video footage in his matter. Bush pleaded not guilty back in July to four assault charges which allege that he assaulted a bar manager back in February at Coral Beach on West Bay Road.
CMR sources indicate there are multiple video clips with two of three being “crystal clear” in terms of what transpired. At the last hearing, Alberga indicated Bush would be pleading guilty but reserved the right to change his pleas after review of the video evidence in the case.
Today, the court agreed the matter should proceed with a case management hearing set for August 27 and a tentative trial date set for December 7, 2020.
