(CMR) Honourable Speaker of the House Mr. William Mckeeva Bush was arrested in Florida on July 17, 2017 for battery with a bond set at $1,000 USD. The arrest was made in Broward Country by Seminole Police Department.
This is for a misdemeanor battery pursuant to Florida statute 784.03 must likely punishable with a fine if it's a first offense.
Our sources indicate that the incident involved some dispute with a casino worker.
CMR sources have informed us that The Ethics Committee chairperson, Julianna O'Connor-Connolly, has been petitioned by other members of the Legislative Committee to address what they see as an international embarrassment for the Cayman Islands. Bush is a current member.
CMR reached out to Bush but was unable to contact him at press time. As soon as we have a response from him we will update accordingly.
