(CMR) Cayman Airways Ltd.'s Boeing-737 Max 8 planes which have been grounded since March last year were moved this morning in order to carry out blasting at the airport. This comes as CMR has received information that the planes will soon be moved to Arizona for storage until further notice. The move is slated to occur on this coming Monday.
The first of the two Max 8 planes could be seen leaving the airport this morning around 10:30 am. Cayman Airways received it's first Max 8 plane in November 2018.
The planes have been grounded worldwide after two fatal crashes that killed 346 persons. Since then there have been numerous additional issues that continue to plague and delays the airplane's return.
Additional issues include problems with the aircraft's wiring which could potentially cause a short circuit, flight deck displays, and warning light issues.
Just today it was disclosed that Boeing's crisis-hit 737 Max jetliner faces a new potential safety issue as debris has been found in the fuel tanks of several new planes that were in storage, awaiting delivery to airlines.

Steve Dickson, head of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), said earlier this month that he would not set a timeframe for allowing the plane back in the air. Mr Dickson indicated that although numerous issues with the Max had been resolved in the past few weeks, some concerns still needed to be addressed before a certification flight could take place.
