UPDATE: Charles Walton III, who was wanted by the police, turned himself into the Cayman Islands Detention Centre on Tuesday, 26 October, where the police subsequently arrested him. He is currently in custody pending further investigations. The RCIPS thanks the public for their assistance in this matter.
(CMR) The RCIPS is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 24-year-old Charles Leonard Walton III, who was last known to be living in Prospect. CMR sources have indicated that he is wanted in relation to a recent shooting in the vicinity in the Cotton Club, George Town. There was a police operation earlier today in the Prospect area involving the air support unit looking for him.
Another person shared that he pulled a gun on several persons over the past weekend. A female connected to him was also arrested.
Mr. Walton is wanted by the police for firearms offenses and is known to be aggressive. He is believed to be armed and dangerous and police are advising the public that Mr. Walton should not be approached by members of the public, but instead to immediately call 9-1-1 upon sighting him.
Investigators are encouraging anyone with information about the whereabouts of Mr. Walton to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222 or dial 9-1-1, specifically if the circumstances are time-sensitive. Additionally, Mr. Walton is encouraged to turn himself into the Cayman Islands Detention Centre, or the nearest active police station, at any time, day or night.
The public is being reminded that according to the Police Act (2021 Revision), it is an offense to obstruct, mislead or act in such a way as to prevent the apprehension of a person who has committed an offense. If prosecuted under this section, you may be liable on conviction to a fine of $5000 or imprisonment for two years or both.
