(CMR) A man in India who had told his wife that he was going to commit suicide after discovering that he had COVID-19, was last week found at the residence of his girlfriend.
Reports from the police are that in late July the man made a dramatic call to his wife telling her that he had tested positive for coronavirus adding that he was going to attempt suicide.
The man abruptly ended the call leaving his wife in distress.
The frantic wife, with the assistance of her brother, filed a missing persons report after she found her husband's wallet, bike keys, and office bag in the streets.
Soon after, the man's belongings were found the police searched several different COVID care centres, testing facilities across the city.
The month-long investigation however proved futile in recovering the man's body.
A new development in late August led police to a neighbouring village in which the man was found living with his girlfriend under a fake identity at a rental accommodation.
