(CMR) A 36-year-old-man of West Bay is now in custody after attacking another man with a machete at a gas station on Thursday, 18 November.
The RCIPS reported that just before 2 pm yesterday, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a report of a serious assault on Hell Road in West Bay. It was reported that a man was attacked by another man using a machete while he was at the gas station located on Hell Road.
Officers arrived on the scene of the incident and located the injured man, who was conscious and appeared alert. They were joined by the ambulance, who administered first aid to the victim, then transported him to the hospital. He was treated for what appears to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries and later discharged.
A short time later, the 36-year-old-man was arrested in relation to the incident and taken into custody, where he currently remains pending further investigations.
