(CMR) A man was arrested on Wednesday in relation to several armed robberies that have taken place recently.
Police said they conducted an operation in the vicinity of Boilers Road, George Town, involving uniform officers, the Firearms Response Unit, and K-9, with the support of the Air Operations Unit. During the operation, police approached a wanted man who attempted to evade police in a vehicle.
The vehicle was stopped, and the man, age 30, of George Town, was arrested on suspicion of robbery in relation to the several recent robbery incidents; and on suspicion of aggravated burglary in relation to a historic burglary. He was further arrested for traffic offenses committed as he attempted to evade police.
He remains in custody as investigations continue.
